The Athenian School Library uses the Dewey Decimal Classification System to categorize print resources. This system is broken down into the following broad categories:
000-009: Computer science, library science, and journalism;
100-009: Philosophy, psychology, and ethics;
200-299: Religion;
300-399: Economics, government, law, and social issues:
400-499: Dictionaries and foreign languages;
500-599: Sciences, mathematics, weather, and animals;
600-699: Medicine, gardening, pets, cooking, careers;
700-799: Art, music, movies, television, and sports;
800-899: English and American literature;
900-999: Geography, travel to foreign lands, American History.
